Labuan Excursion 1

Hey there guys.  All's been quiet eh...all's been busy I guess.  I,  for sure was very busy.  Guess where I got busy...Labuan baby!..... Then ....Miri Baby!  Guess how long both place ate me...One week each baby... Here are some photos. Took well over a hundred but got time to insert a few nice ones.  Labuan is quite photogenic, see for yourself...

This is the night scene taken from Sheraton Labuan, facing inland.

This was what i woke up to on the first morning.  That's the Dataran Labuan. On the left is the Merdeka Port, or Liberty Port as they like to call it.

This was where I had a pot of coffee.  Groovy place but bad coffee.  Only 3 groups of customer present, myself included. This is the closest you'll get in terms of having coffee in cafe.  Otherwise, go to 4-5 Star's hotel Coffeehouse.  Coffee's better there.

This is the view from Global Hotel, facing the port.

On sunday afternoon I took the time to walk across labuan town.  Here's what I got.

This is the flag poles area seen from sheraton view.

This is the view from the flags area across the field looking at the Financial Center, Beta service Apartment on the left and Sheraton on the right.

When I looked up the poles, I saw the flags waved vigorously, patriotic, their strings lashing against the steel pole and the sky beamed blue, as the wind gave a good blow job.

The area behind the flag poles.  The defunct Labuan Hotel sits lazily in the background.

This is the financial center, in malay, it's called UJANA KEWANGAN, Labuan's Commercial and Financial Center.

The left side of the Financial Center.

This is the financial center from across a green garden.

This is the Financial Center from Waterfront Hotel.

Another view yet from the Waterfront Hotel.

One more view for the road, eh mate.

This is the Fishery, where big fish is distributed, they're big....

Somebody get baywatch.  These kids are stranded on a ... a.... an anchorage or something.  Hang on....ek!  They're fishing!  Padan lah lifeguard on speedo patah balik...buang karan je...

This is the International Sports Complex.

The Sea Sports Complex from another angle.  Looks like an oasis.

Yet another view.

This is the seafood restaurant called Mawilla Yacht Club.  The view from here is superb.  Look...

Excellent contrast don't you think?
